Carbon farming session coming to Jarklin

16 Jan 2013

The North Central Catchment Management Authority (CMA) in partnership with the East Loddon Landcare Group will host a free carbon farming information session and meal at the Four Posts Hotel, Jarklin, on Wednesday 30 January.

According to Ms Ashley Beven, Regional Landcare Facilitator with the North Central CMA, the newly reformed East Loddon Landcare Group is keen to bring the latest information on carbon farming opportunities to all farmers on the Loddon Plains.

Guest speaker Ben Keogh, Managing Director of Australian Carbon Traders, will discuss the practicalities and realities of carbon farming. The evening will also address questions around creating carbon credits on farm, how to participate in the Carbon Farming Initiative and marketing and trading carbon credits.

Ms Beven said, “Ben Keogh has extensive experience in designing and implementing carbon farming projects and schemes, so the information session is a great opportunity for farmers to have their questions answered.

“Understanding how carbon farming can work efficiently on your farm will be extremely valuable,” Ms Beven said.

The evening will begin at 7pm and conclude at 9.30pm with dinner provided. Places are strictly limited.
