Annual Cohuna Bridge to Bridge a Success

12 Mar 2010

The North Central Catchment Management Authority (CMA) recently sponsored an event in the successful ‘Cohuna Bridge to Bridge’ held in late February.  The annual community event is popular with local community members and visitors alike and raises much needed funds for the Cohuna District Hospital and the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Melanie Tranter, Gunbower project manager, along with a record number of North Central CMA staff and their families participated in the event.

Support for the Cohuna community is important to the CMA.  The North Central CMA continues to implement and plan works to enhance and protect the nearby Gunbower State Forest.

“Through my ongoing work for the Gunbower Forest project I know what a strong community Cohuna has.  It was fantastic to take some of my colleagues to the event to show them around the area and introduce them to the locals.

The North Central CMA is thankful to the community for their support of the ongoing Gunbower project.”

Gunbower Forest, situated on the Murray River floodplain downstream of Echuca, is an internationally significant floodplain system and contains an extensive River red gum forest.
