View Gunbower from a kayak

16 Nov 2016

It has been a long time since Gunbower Creek and its surrounds looked so good, and locals will have a chance to see it themselves from a unique perspective later this month.

The North Central Catchment Management Authority (CMA) is holding a free Gunbower Creek kayak trip on Sunday 27 November from 10am to noon, followed by lunch.

“This is a great chance to see the Gunbower region from the water and view the amount of work that has been done to help protect the waterway for the local community,” North Central CMA Project Officer Amy Russell said.

“The tour will be run in conjunction with the Gunbower and District Landcare Group and will look at several sites along the creek, including our weed-control sites.

“We will also discuss the works that have been undertaken and discussing waterway management activities.”

All kayaks, safety gear and maps will be provided and everyone over the age of six is welcome, however those under 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult.

Numbers are strictly limited. To register, phone 03 5448 7124 or email info@nccma.vic.gov.auThe event is supported by the Australian Government’s National Landcare Programme.
