A Regional Landcare Coordinator supports 184 Landcare and community natural resource
management groups in the region. The Second Generation Landcare Grants program makes available State Government funding (through the Victorian Action Plan for Second Generation
Landcare) for community projects delivered by Landcare and community groups to address a range of issues.

An Indigenous Facilitator ensures that Indigenous communities are actively aware of, and engaged in, planning, implementation and onground works. This Regional Indigenous Facilitator position is the conduit between the North Central CMA and traditional owners, Indigenous communities and Registered Aboriginal Parties. It also facilitates understanding within the North Central CMA of cross-cultural awareness and Indigenous engagement.

The North Central Waterwatch program has developed substantially since its inception. Diversification of education and monitoring programs, combined with strategic placement of
community monitoring efforts, has been the focus over the past several years. This has included: the introduction of the River Detectives schools program; the development of several biodiversity education and monitoring programs; increased data confidence and use of community collected environmental data; and strategic focussing of Waterwatch monitoring to better assist managers
in determining asset condition change.
