In the first generation of natural resource management the North Central Catchment Management Authority (CMA) has identified key natural resource assets with the greatest environmental, economic or cultural significance from which the community derives the greatest benefit and values the most.
We have a number of main asset areas within which our projects and programs fall. These include:
- Land
- Water
- Biodiversity
- Climate
- Community, Culture & Infrastructure
The asset based approach means that, where possible, investment into natural resource strategies will be directed towards protecting and enhancing those key assets.
The North Central CMA's strategies strive to protect the key assets of the North Central region by prioritising, coordinating and guiding investment into actions. It is important that natural resource management within the region must be fully integrated.
