The North Central Waterwatch program has been active
since 1993. From Wycheproof to Woodend, Cohuna to
Creswick and Swan Hill to Echuca, Waterwatch works
with volunteers across the region to monitor the health of
our waterways.

Three ephemeral lakes lie on the floodplains of the Avon River, approximately 18 km south of the township of Donald, and 30 km north-west of St Arnaud.

Grampians Wimmera Mallee Water (trading as GWMWater) was formed from an
amalgamation of the former Grampians Region Water Authority (GRWA) and
Wimmera Mallee Water Authority (WMW) on 1 July 2004.

environmental assets - important ecosystems in their own right - support our
communities by providing water for farms, towns, and industry and are of
significant recreational and cultural value.
