The development of the plans has a strong community focus to ensure that the recommendations have support and meet the community's needs.
Charlton
BMT WBM has completed the hydrology component of the plan. The hydrology confirms that the January 2011 flood event was a 1 in 200 year flood event, or a flood that has a probability of occurring 0.5% in any given year. Additional survey is in the process of being acquired to enable BMT WBM to finalise the hydraulic model of Charlton. Technical Working Group and Steering Committee meetings were held in December 2011.
Rochester
Following a competitive public tender process, Water Technology has been engaged to develop the Rochester Flood Management Plan. A Steering Committee and Technical Working Group has been formed. The first meeting was held in December 2011.

Creswick
Water Technology have prepared a final draft of the Creswick Flood and Drainage Mitigation Plan and released to the community for public comment. A community meeting was held on 1 December 2011 to discuss the plan and the proposed preferred mitigation option. The public comment period closed prior to Christmas 2011.
The preferred mitigation option involves a combination of additional culverts underneath the two major VicRoads bridges in town, the construction of new levees and waterway works.

Clunes
Water Technology has been engaged to develop the Clunes Flood and Drainage Management Plan. An initial community information session in conjunction with the Hepburn Shire Council and VicSES has been held. The hydrology component of the study is well underway. The first Steering Committee and Technical Working Group meetings were held December 2011.
