License and Flood Advice

The North Central CMA has statutory obligations under the Water Act (Vic) 1989, the Planning and Environment Act (Vic) 1987 and the Catchment and Land Protection Act (Vic) 1994 in relation to Floodplain Management and Waterway Protection.

In particular we aim to protect people and property from the impacts of flooding and ensure that natural waterways are protected.  This is primarily achieved by ensuring that any new development or works is undertaken appropriately.
 

Are you constructing a Farm Dam?

If you are planning works associated with the take and use of water, such as dams and weirs, a permit may be required from your Rural Water Corporation. The two Rural Water Corporations that cover the north central Victoria region are:
